Stardew Valley Gem Birds
Gem Birds guide for Stardew Valley Ginger Island rainy-day shrine puzzle, north, south, east, west bird locations, pedestal compass mapping, Amethyst, Aquamarine, Emerald, Ruby, Topaz, Rain Totem planning, guessing, and 5 Golden Walnuts.
Quick facts
On rainy Ginger Island days, one Gem Bird appears in one island region and drops a gem.
The four shrine pedestals map to north, east, south, and west island regions.
The correct gems are chosen per save from Amethyst, Aquamarine, Emerald, Ruby, and Topaz, and the reward is 5 Golden Walnuts once per save.
Map birds to pedestals
The key is not just the gem, but where the bird appeared. Record direction and gem together, then place that gem type on the matching compass pedestal.
- North bird maps to the top pedestal; east to right; south to bottom; west to left.
- Use Island Field Office, Leo's jungle path, docks, and Birdie's pond area as location anchors.
- Bring spare gems because the placed item only needs to match the correct type.
Handle rain and guesses
Island rain is separate from mainland weather. Rain Totems used on Ginger Island can force the next-day bird route, and missing directions can be guessed with the remaining possible gems.
- Check Ginger Island forecast after the first island visit.
- Use Rain Totem on the island when waiting for natural rain is slow.
- If only one direction is missing, test the remaining gem types on that pedestal.
