Stardew Valley Island Trader

Island Trader guide for Ginger Island barter unlocks, 10 Golden Walnut cost after Island Farmhouse, fixed stock, rotating stock, Taro Tubers, Pineapple Seeds, Banana and Mango Saplings, Golden Coconut trades, recipes, Galaxy Soul last-day route, and island resource stockpiles.

Quick facts

The Island Trader is on Ginger Island North and is always open once unlocked.
The trader unlocks for 10 Golden Walnuts after the Island Farmhouse has been purchased.
The shop does not accept gold; every purchase is a barter trade using island, Volcano, fish, fruit, or combat resources.

Unlock the barter economy

The Island Trader is strongest once the island farm and Island North routes are established. Unlock it after the farmhouse when the save can actually feed the barter costs.

  • Spend the 10-walnut trader unlock after access routes are stable.
  • Use fixed stock for tropical crops, saplings, recipes, and Golden Coconut loops.
  • Check rotating stock by weekday when furniture, hats, or Galaxy Souls matter.

Stockpile before shopping

Gold cannot solve this shop. The player needs Bone Fragments, Cinder Shards, Dragon Teeth, Mussels, island fish, tropical crops, Coconuts, and later Radioactive Bars.

  • Use one island barter chest for shop-only resources.
  • Protect Dragon Teeth and Cinder Shards when they compete with Forge, Obelisk, and recipe goals.
  • Check the last day of the season for Galaxy Soul only after dangerous monster and Radioactive Bar routes are ready.
