Open Nian Nian once after installing it. On your Home Screen, touch and hold an empty area, open the widget gallery, and search for Nian Nian. Choose a small, medium, or large widget. Updates may take a little time to appear.

Open Settings in the app and choose Export Backup. Save the JSON file somewhere you trust, then use Import Backup on the other device. Import adds new records and keeps the local version of any record with the same ID. Nian Nian does not provide cloud sync.

You can repeat a date yearly, monthly, or after a set number of days. You can also keep it one-time. A monthly date that falls after the end of a shorter month uses that month’s last day; February 29 uses February 28 in non-leap years.

Your dates and notes stay on your device. The developer cannot see or restore them. Keep a backup before removing the app or changing devices, and do not send your backup file or private anniversary details in a support email.
