- Use Big Chests near crop, fish, animal, and artisan processing lanes.
- Use Big Stone Chests when Stone is abundant and the Dwarf recipe route is ready.
Build storage as a route
The best storage layout reflects how the farm moves. Color coding, sheds, and chest placement should reduce walking and decisions, not merely increase total capacity.
- Color-code by workflow such as crops, mining, gifts, cooking, requests, and Ginger Island.
- Put high-use chests near machines, shipping bins, warp points, and farm entrances.
- Plan Wood, Copper Bars, and Stone around buildings and machines before mass crafting.
