Stardew Valley The Mines
The Mines guide for Stardew Valley Spring 5 access, 120 floors, elevator checkpoints, reward floors, copper, iron, gold, geodes, monster routes, Skull Key, Shrine of Challenge, and dangerous mines.
Quick facts
The Mines open on Spring 5 Year 1 after the landslide is cleared.
There are 120 floors, and the elevator saves every reached multiple of 5.
Floor 120 grants the Skull Key for Skull Cavern and later hosts the Shrine of Challenge.
Push by elevator checkpoints
A good mine day starts with a five-floor target. Bring food, clear inventory slots, and leave when the next elevator stop is secured rather than wandering until midnight.
- Use floors 1-39 for copper and early monster goals.
- Use floors 41-79 for iron, Dust Sprites, frozen minerals, and coal.
- Use floors 81-119 for gold, Magma Geodes, Fire Quartz, and late weapons.
Claim the bottom cleanly
Floor 120 is the transition from normal mine progression into desert progression. The Skull Key unlocks Skull Cavern, and later dangerous mine routing brings Radioactive Ore into the system.
- Plan reward floors around boots, weapons, Stardrop, and Skull Key milestones.
- Use Staircases to protect late-day checkpoint pushes or skip punishing infested floors.
- After Qi's Walnut Room and Danger in the Deep, use the Shrine of Challenge for dangerous mine resources.
